Races and their abilities

Vampires

Vampires, like any other being, vary in culture and even race but though they have their differences, they live together as a community. There are 3 types of vampire that exist within this RP: they are the pure bloods, the Nosferatu, and the half bloods. Each type has their common strengths and weaknesses, but vary in ability and appearance.

Pure bloods: The pure bloods are those whom are born vampires and are not Nosferatu, they tend to be either aristocratic or delve into swordplay to defend their kind. Pure bloods have a pale complexion but otherwise flawless skin and tend to be quite attractive.

Abilities:
Pure bloods have great strength, far more than a human,
increased speed and agility. Pure bloods also possess the ability to grow decent sized wings from their backs to allow them to fly. Pure bloods can regenerate, but at a much slower rate and it happens during their sleep, or it can be forced with the consumption of blood.

Weaknesses:
Pure bloods have a weakness to holy relics and sunlight, both of which can kill them if endured for a prolonged time


Nosferatu: The Nosferatu are the oldest of all vampires and are full blooded. The difference between pure bloods and Nosferatu is mainly appearance, as the Nosferatu are bald with elongated fingers and a slouched stance, making them look more animal like. The entire vampire council consists of 11 Nosferatu and 1 pure blood. They make up the majority of the leaders of the vampires. They are very rarely, if ever, seen in battle. Though they mostly lead, this is not because they have no prowess in battle, it is just that with so many more willing soldiers they have never needed to fight.

Abilities:
Nosferatu are the strongest of the vampires and can easily beat some werewolves in strength, speed, and can even best some strong demons. Through their perfect blood they are capable of morphing into half beast/ half man versions of themselves, gaining large wings and elongated claws. Nosferatu are also the only vampires capable of morphing into full beast form. Nosferatu can regenerate lost limbs with the consumption of blood equal to the limb lost.

Weaknesses:
Nosferatu suffer from a weakness to holy relics even more so than the pure bloods in which only a few hours can result in death. As for sunlight, Nosferatu can endure sunlight for a few minutes before coming into any danger.


Half bloods: half bloods are those whom are bitten rather than born a vampire. Though they are vampires, they are looked down upon and used soley as soldiers and guards. They look perfectly human, having no skin discoloration.

Abilities:
Half bloods have greater strength than humans and can survive against lycans. If trained enough they can learn to grow wings though much smaller than normal. half bloods can also fully withstand holy relics. half bloods can regenerate but it is very slow and can take days before the limb is operable again.

Weaknesses:
The only weakness half bloods possess is to sunlight, as even a moment within the light can sever a limb in seconds.

Demons

Demons vary greatly in appearance and though they are all beings of hell, they share no allegiances to each other. Instead, they are solitary hunters, working alone and never seeing eye to eye with each other. They would rather kill each other than admit that they are weak. It is rumored that demons are the ancestors of both vampires and lycans, though both races deny sharing a common bloodline. Demons can take the form of a human, but their true forms are almost always horrific manifestations of what evil they truly are.

Abilities:
Demons vary in strength and are usually stronger than all of the bloodlines. Demons can possess many powers, such as fire breath or corrupting humans. Demons are immortal unless slain by a rune blade.

Weaknesses:
Demons are weakened by holy relics and can be subdued by holy seals. Demons cannot enter cathedrals or other holy places without shedding their human forms, and even then it is as if their abilities are sealed. The only weapons that can kill demons are rune blades, but many strong binding spells can subdue a demon without killing it. Demons cannot wield the rune blades.

Beasts

Werewolves live together in the wilds of the forest and usually don't associate with any of the other races as they are often looked down upon as mindless beasts. There are 3 types of lycans: ancients, lycans, and werewolves. Each type shares some of the basic strengths and weaknesses of their bloodline with subtle changes.

Ancients:
Ancients are the first generation of Lycans and are the only Dire Wolf type. They are descendants of Amarok, a wolf so massive that it hunted on its own, and killed those foolish to hunt on their own. Due to this fact, Ancients have their own culture and garments fit for their large bodies. Though they are the first Lycans, they are feared among their own kind as monsters because of the fact that they hunt and kill without reason. Feared among all of the ancients are the Ivory alphas. Ivory alphas are a rare and very powerful breed and only a few are born every hundred years. They come in two distinct colors: white with glowing blue eyes and blood red with matching glowing eyes. They strike fear into all who see them, and are even distinctive in their human form.

Abilities:
Ancients and the Ivory alphas are the strongest of the beasts and possess unparalleled strength and speed, making them one of the deadlier species of the bloodlines. Ancients are capable of temporarily increasing their own strength and physique each full moon. Ancients have great regenerative abilities and can force silver bullets from their bodies, though too many will result in death.

Weaknesses:
Ancients can only be killed with silver weapons or by destroying their bodies with fire. Ivory aplhas can only be killed by being impaled numerous times by silver weapons so that the wounds may not heal.


Lycans:
Lycans are the spawn of ancients and humans, gifting them with the ability to transform from human to beast and vice versa. Although they are the spawn of ancients, they fear their elders as monsters because of their lack of humanity. Lycans are generally less hairy and have a smaller muzzle than ancients and werewolves because the actual human DNA has mutated with the beast DNA and altered their transformation.

Abilities:
Lycans are stronger and faster than humans and most vampires, and can communicate with others of their race from long distances via howling. Some lycans wield weapons rather than using their claws, allowing for a greater range of battle tactics. Lycans have great regenerative abilities and can force silver bullets from their bodies, though too many will result in death.


Weaknesses:
Lycans are weak against silver, but have a greater resistance to it than their full blooded elders. They also cannot gain any greater power from the full moon because of their mutated DNA.


Werewolves:
Werewolves are the product of humans being bitten by ancients or lycans, thus passing on the original beast virus. Werewolves are the weakest of the 3 types of beast as they were full human before being bitten, but still stronger than humans and some vampires. Werewolves look just like ancients but have black fur when transformed. Werewolves are only weak for the first years after being bitten, as over time they can learn to master their transformations.

Abilities:
Werewolves can overtime master their power, making them as strong as lycans, but can only do so after casting off their humanity to let their inner beast's nature out, thus relenquishing all will over their curse. Once the beast has been allowed control it will force a transformation when the human gets emotional or can see/smell blood. During full moons werewolves are overpowered by their inner beast and forced to transform, usually killing all non beasts in sight.

Weaknesses:
Werewolves can be killed by silver weapons. When their inner beast is still contained humans are weakened by their morals and can be afraid of the beast within, stopping them from reaching full strength. Once the beast is released, the host will lose most control over when they transform. Full moons force a transformation resulting in the bloodshed of non beasts.

Humans

Humans are diverse people, having different physiques and mental capacities. Humans have lived in fear of the creatures that lurk in the shadows, but with the discovery of the rune blades and the establishment of the Order man now has a powerful means to deal with the beasts at their door. There are three types of human, each serving their own purpose and having their own strength. The types are Hunter, High Templar, and Dark Knight.


Hunters:
Hunters are well learned in the ways of both ranged and close combat, as well as mythology, giving them a solid advantage over most humans. Hunters usually employ various techniques when dealing with the creatures of the night and are always ready with a plethora of armaments to deal with any foe.

Abilities:
Hunters are masters of their trade, and even without enhanced bodies they can hold their own against monsters.



High Templar:
The greatest asset to the Order, the Templar are disciplined and trained to deal with evil creatures. Along with being masters of close combat, the Templar also employ light magics to heal their wounds or enhance their own abilities in battle.


High Templar appearance:

Abilities:
High Templar are unmatched in sword fighting and can use light magics to enhance the speed of their body or to bind demons with holy seals. They can also use their magic to heal minor wounds or bring fatal wounds to a close, but they lack the power to heal lost limbs.



Dark knights:
Dark knights use their expertise in demonology to gain access to unholy powers, making them a formidable weapon against most foes, but the usage of such evil powers has kept them under watch by the Order. Dark knights are some of the most determined martyrs, giving their souls to eternal damnation in order to defend the human race.

Abilities:
Dark knights use various arcane magics to grant them the regenerative properties and other abilities of the beasts they fight. They typically use brutal weapons to cause as much pain to their enemies as they can. Through their devotion to the arcane they are able to use some offensive magics as well.
